FAQs Print E-mail

Why does registration need my e-mail address?

  • So we can register you then you can have access to all sections of the website. This style is prevalent on such websites. Secondly to reduce the probability of false reports. By providing a valid e-mail address you are held accountable for your comments. The Ti Five Group can and will make your details available to law enforcement agencies if we are required to. Thirdly we need to communicate with users. We may need to advise of developments in the website. But your e-mail will not be given out to other users of PeepPeep or for commercial reasons.

Why has my registration failed?

  • Possibly you have not given an active e-mail address to send your confirmation of registration? Or the user name you have chosen is already taken? Resubmit your application with an accurate e-mail address and/or a new user name.  Also, sometimes the notification e-mail can take a while to be delivered particularly if it is a "free" one like hotmail or yahoo, be patient in this case, it should eventually arrive!  If you have further problems contact us.

What is the purpose of drivechat?

  • Drivechat provides an easy way of communicating with other road users. It is a unique way of communicating with other people who you might meet once, briefly on the road.

If you want to praise someone how else can you do it?

  • If unhappy with another road user most people do nothing.  Drivechat gives you a way of describing what happened and the effect upon you. Alternatively give people advice. They might accept it.
  • Drivechat does not take the place of reporting dangerous or criminal behaviour to the Police. We urge you to report dangerous or criminal issues directly to the Police. Any urgent issues you experience we recommend you contact the relevant Police force immediately or consider contacting 999.
  • This website is aimed at situations you would not regard as serious enough to report to the Police but where doing nothing is not a healthy option either.

Making a Drivechat Report:

  • Essential fields are a part of the Registration Number, the location, the date of the incident and a report. We suggest you add as much information as possible. If your report is of a negative nature describe what happened and suggest what the other person should do next time, or ask them to think about the effects on others. Do not use foul or offensive language. There is a swear filter in operation at all times. We may monitor reports and may delete any such reports and may cancel the users registration. All reports are the responsibility of the user/author and the Ti Five Group in no way accepts any responsibility for any comments/reports made by you.
  • The website allows for users to post comments about another drivers               behaviour but specifically does NOT intend for an individual driver to be uniquely identified. We specifically limit the posting of a registration number to four digits and do NOT advise any member to record any other digits within the text of their post. In situations where the vehicle registration number is made up of four or less digits we explicitly recommend that all members record only a part of the registration number and not the entire, unique number.

Searching for a Drivechat Report:

  • You can search in the Search Forum option any feature of any report. For Drive Chat you may wish to search a part of the vehicle registration number or the locationon. Once you have searched and found a report you can read the report as presented. If you wish to make a comment about the report or see whether others have comments to make then you will find these in the Drivechat section of the Forum.

Remembering issues/incidents:

This can be a problem but there are options:

  • Buy a small Dictaphone. They cost between ?10 and ?20. When it is safe to do so (not when driving) you can record the details and enter the report into PeepPeep later. Some Mp3 players have the facility to record information as do some mobile phones
  • Write details down quickly after the event (bearing in mind you and others safety).
  • Remembering the first four digits of a Registration Number in our experience is enough to identify the Registration Plate you want.

What is the purpose of Please Consider?

  • To be able to communicate with people in the same neighborhoods as you or who use the same roads as you. It is aimed at assisting people to learn from each other and discover what others think of the roads in your area.

Making a Please Consider Report:

  • The only essential field is the location. We suggest you provide as much information as possible to make it easier for others to understand your issue and then respond. Do not use foul or offensive language. We may monitor reports and may delete any such reports and may cancel the author's registration. We would remind you all reports are the responsibility of the user/author and the Ti Five Group in no way accepts any responsibility for any comments/reports made by you.

Searching for a Please Consider report:

  • You can search for any Please Consider reports by the Search Forum option. Once you have searched and found a report you can read the report as presented. However if you wish to comment about the report or see others  comments you will find these in the Please Consider section of the Forum.

What is the purpose of Take Action?

  • To enable you to tell others your views about how your local road conditions could or should be improved. Secondly to make it easier to send comments/opinions to the people responsible for the condition of the roads/pavements.
  • If you currently try and contact your Council about an issue you will probably find their contact details buried in their website. PeepPeep makes this easy. Also do it through PeepPeep and tell others what your views are. Maybe they will want to make a report themselves? The more people raising the issue the greater chance something will be done?

Making a Take Action Report:

  • We ask you to provide details only about location, date (if applicable) and the report itself.
  • Then when you write your report/post you must select the Local Authority (or "Council") you wish to submit your report to. When you select this you will then send your report to that Local Authority and at the same time, post that report on the Take Action forum on the website. This allows others in your Local Authority area to see what people wish to change in their area.
  • Once you receive a response we ask you to put the response on the PeepPeep website. Then others learn how the Council/Road Provider responds, what action might be taken, or if the response is unsatisfactory enables others to decide if they wish to contact the Council themselves.

Searching for a Take Action Report:

  • By using the Search Forum option you can search any issues on any part of the website. You can then read all reports that interest you and/or discuss these with users on the Take Action Forum.

What is Peep's Opinion?

  • Regularly we choose a current issue and seeks the opinions of PeepPeep members. The rest is up to you. If it's in the news then we hope to feature it here. Share your opinions/experiences with others. If you have a suggestion for a topic then e-mail PeeP at info@peeppeep.co.uk. We will consider all suggestions. PeeP reserves the right to be a bit controversial. No point everyone agreeing!

Can I vent my road rage on this site?

  • No. You can voice criticism but PeepPeep will not accept reports that are hostile, offensive in any way or use foul language. You have, by registering as a member (through the Terms and Conditions) agreed not to behave in this way. We promoter better understanding and learning not abuse and aggression. We also aim to have restricted all unacceptable language by way of our swear filter. However at the side of every post is a Report to Moderator link and if you find anything offensive on the website we urge you to report this to ourselves.

Are How's My Driving Schemes not better?

  • They have their place but how frequently do you use them? Private cars do not have them, only company trucks/vans etc. How's My Driving schemes have various phone numbers. Can you remember both a Registration Number and a telephone number? Better to have a one-stop website where any report on anything can be posted. Remembering peeppeep.co.uk is simple in comparison to remembering phone numbers. Put it in your computer favourites (or make it your homepage) and it is there when you need it.

Will my e-mail be given out to anyone?

  • PeepPeep will not reveal your e-mail to anyone and will not use it to assist others commercial purposes.

What do I do if a false report is submitted against me?

  • Use the Report to Moderator link beside every report. We will deal with it. Where there appears to be a fabrication or false report we will remove this. The person making the report will be monitored. Should there be a pattern of false reports we will remove this person's registration.

Can I link my website with peeppeep?

  • Contact us and we will consider this. Your website will need to reflect the aims and purposes of PeepPeep.

Can you put me in touch with the people I am communicating with?

  • No - we do not facilitate users contacting each other outwith the PeepPeep website.

Can I advertise my company/website on PeepPeep?

  • E-mail us with your proposal. We will consider it.

History of peeppeep.

  • The idea of peeppeep came from the owners' daily experience of being road users and having no way of communicating with other road users. Whether it is about an individual's behaviour, a common problem in a certain area or a Council not fulfilling it's responsibilities we believe a simple means of communicating may help make better, safer roads for everyone.

Site Owners?

  • PeepPeep is owned by the Ti Five Group.
